Party Monster - A Must See Movie

"Party Monster" was a movie based on the life of Michael Alig (Macaulay Culkin). Seth Green co-stars this movie as Micheal's friend and roommate. Released in 2003 this movie wasn't very popular but is now considered by some a cult classic. I think the reason people disliked this movie at first was because it seems to be over acted in some parts and the story is truly outrageous. Another movie "Party Monster: The Shockumentary" was also released. This movie is a documentary of Michael Alig and the people in his life. If you watch this movie you will notice that the movie is not much different from the actual story in fact it is almost uncanny. The bulk of the story takes place in New York where Micheal Alig hosted parties at 'Disco 2000' in the 80's. There was an excessive amount of drug use by Micheal Alig and his friends, a group that called them selves the "club kids". These "club kids" would throw outrageous parties in different parts of New York interrupting daily life for citizens. Latter they went on tour and threw parties across the US. Micheal Alig was always trying to push the envelope with things. He wanted to see just how much he could get away with. One day he thought it would be a fabulous idea to promote a drug dealer named Angel as a new "club kid". Latter on Angel moved in with Micheal and a few other "club kids" in a New York apartment. When Micheal's friend and club owner starts to get investigated by the DIA things take a turn for the worst but Micheal keeps on partying. Soon he runs out of drugs and money and has no way of paying Angel for all the drugs he had gotten on credit. Angel starts to demand money from Micheal. Micheal on a whim decides to kill Angel. The details of the crime are gruesome to say the least but the story will continue to grip your attention. All in all I would have to say this is one of my favorite movies of all time and a must see for the cynical or slightly sinister of heart.
