Joost doesn't work with Microsoft Windows XP custom "DPI setting"
After installing and playing with Joost on my game machine, I decided that it's ready for prime time on my television's entertainment computer. I proceed to install it there. But when I load up Joost, the screen was all messed up. I couldn't log in or change channels.
After playing with my display settings, I realized that the Joost software simply does not work with custom "DPI setting" in Windows XP. I have changed that setting to 150% previously (see 'Changing the "DPI setting"' in the "Configure Windows XP for Use with a Television" article).
You can only use the "Normal size (96 DPI)" and the "Large size (120 DPI)" settings of Windows XP. After changing the setting back to 120% percent, Joost works. That's really unfortunately, because I like fonts a lot bigger on my television.
