I'm glad Sarah has left the series. She was starting to really get on my nerves and the strangeness of the relationship between her and Grissom was starting to change his character for the worse as well.
Although I can become quite fond of some of my favourite TV characters, I don't like them to change that much. Warrick went through relationships without them allowing his character to be radically changed by them. Grissom was not the sort of character that could retain his essential flavour and become seriously involved with someone else, except perhaps Lady Heather. I wonder what would have happened if the program makers had taken that risk and let him choose her instead of taking the safe option of Sarah.
I can't see that really being viable though. It would make for some interesting character development, but I ferar it would be too interesting form some of the viewers. There is a morality running through CSI where those that dare to be different are punished by being the next victim on the Doctor's table. While Lady Heather was not herself punished for her actions in this manner, it was perhaps worse the manner in which she lost her daughter.
Nope, CSI wasn't ready for that amount of interest, and now we say bye to more main characters. it will be interesting whether they will take anymore risks with them.
