“Let Hertz Put You In The Driverߴs Seat” was a television commercial advertising the Hertz Rental Car Company, and it is my all-time favorite. Televised many years ago, when televisions were still black and white, it made use of a special effect which surprised viewers. It was rather a shock to see a man in a business suit, tie and hat flying into the driverߴs seat of a convertible as it was going down a highway, as the singers announced, “Let Hertz Put You In the Driverߴs Seat”, with a big emphasis on the “you”. As a matter of fact, for years to come, and still today, many comedy routines parody this commercial, which means it did make a big impression on the viewing public.
