Echo - A sex object?
Having just watched the pilot episode of Dollhouse, I was pretty surprised by the sexualisation of Echo. Her first mission is as a “dream date” where she is basically pimped out by her owners in the dollhouse and showed a lot of flesh as part of the deal. She then took on the role of hostage negotiator and alluded to her memory's childhood sexual abuse by one of the characters. If this (along with the montage of sexually orientated clips in the introduction) is anything to go by, I will be interested to see how Whedon avoids this series becoming anything more than a homage to Eliza Dushku's body to make up for her limited acting talent.
