Who will be the next to die?!
Harper's Island is clearly a show so cleverly written and well thought out that it's going to keep us guessing until the end. Who's the killer? Who will die next? I enjoyed watching the premiere episode so much the first time around that I thought I'd watch it a second time to take a stab (no pun intended!) at who I think will be the person to be killed on the next episode. The show advertises that at least one person dies every episode, so I'm thinking writers want the viewers to be thinking about such things. So, here we go�!
It won't be Abby, Henry or Trish; the plot of the show clearly revolves around these three. Also, this is simply an educated guess, but I don't think the person murdered in the next show will be one of the other actors/characters who also receive top-billing in the show's credits: Chloe and Cal. Further, Trish's father, Thomas, will undoubtedly also play a key role throughout the series; it won't be him. As for Abby's father, I don't think they would kill him off this early in the series, considering the lingering sadness over her mother's murder; so Sheriff Mills is probably safe for another few episodes. On a related note, I don't think they would kill off a potential romantic relationship for Abby, so Jimmy is probably safe.
While Hunter Jennings could play a larger role in the grand scheme of things, he may also be a plot device, like Uncle Marty was before he was killed off: he may be put in to throw us off the scent, and make us think he's the killer. I doubt he will be killed off in the next episode, but I'm not sure how long he will last. (The same thing goes for J.D., Henry's brother. They made the tattoos make him seem so menacing. Again, he's put in to throw us off the scent.)
I think the most likely people to be murdered in the next episode are those who are not part of the wedding party – especially since we don't want everyone fleeing off the island just yet! (As for the death of Uncle Marty, I'm sure the writers will come up with some reason why the characters would think he would disappear unwittingly. He is CRAZY Marty, after all!) So, who does that leave us? Not many people. My best guess for the person who will die the next episode is�SHANE PIERCE, the friend of Jimmy's who works on the boat with him. Of course, my guess is based on factors typically used in mainstream works of mystery. I hope, however, that the writers throw caution to the wind and make this show totally unconventional. I can't wait for the next episode to see where they're going to take it!
