Is Hiro headed for trouble?

In the season premiere of Heroes; Hiro went back in time to a carnival where he was told his “destiny”, but for what purpose? The whole while he was there he was dead set against changing the past. So, what was the point of going back?

He and Ando argued that changing that destiny would affect everything that had come to pass thus far. It was Hiro who had to “save the cheerleader” which, in turn, led to saving the city from the bomb.

One of the cardinal rules of time travel is that changing any one event can ripple into several others causing disastrous consequences. I don't like the show going in that direction because it looks like Hiro is dying or very ill (I missed last season entirely, so I don't really know.) He could go back in time to when he first got sick, but he doesn't seem very interested in that.

The carnival guy helped him repair the relationship between Ando and Hiro's sister, but we don't yet know if there is some adverse consequence to making that change in the past.

Now, he wants to go back and right all sorts of “wrongs.” It's an interesting storyline, for sure, but I think it's opening the door for a whole lot of trouble. If he changes certain things it would certainly affect the rest of the show's characters. I'm happy with the way things are going with the rest of them – except for Sylar reborn as Nathan.
