Time Travel Involving Meeting Yourself
The popular television series “Heroes” is clearly a temptation to break all the rules. In the episode titled “Once Upon A Time In Texas” My favorite hero is Hiro. The ability to stop time and travel forward and backward in time, allows Hiro to try to save the world. In this episode he wants to save Charlie, the girl of his dreams, from death due to blood clot. He travels three years back in time to try to save her.
He first tries to get the bad guy Sylar to use his powers to fix her. Although Hiro has many obstacles like Sylar wanting to kill her, and Samuel wanting to divert Hiro to save someone else. In the course of his struggle to save Charlie, Hiro travels back in time to warn a previous version of himself of steps to take. This was an astonishing event since most time travel means that one person cannot meet themselves without causing severe damage to the basic essence of time. Hiro does manage to convince Sylar to save Charlie. Sylar moves the blood clot to her eye where it comes out as a tear.
As things change, the result is not always what is expected. Charlie feels guilty for living when other die. She accuses Hiro of being selfish and leaves him feeling miserable. Samuel interferes by hiding Charlie in another space in time where Hiro cannot locate her. All his efforts to be with the girl he loves are in vain
