A New NCIS

So, have you heard? There is going to be another NCIS to watch!

The folks at CBS have realized just how much of a cash cow they have with NCIS and so they are going to create a spinoff show that follows another group of special agents. I suppose it's going to be a lot like the CSIs that ended up having a number of offerings after the first show was a success.

In case you didn't know, NCIS was a spinoff from JAG six years ago. Now at the top of it's game, the network thought it would be a good idea to let it spawn another show that will hopefully bring in the same kind of viewership.

As we all know there are two things that this show will need to be able to get our attention and keep it ? great writing and a great cast. They have announced members of the cast.

Playing your lead investigator Agent Callen is Chris O'Donnel. He was Dr. Finn Dandridge in Grey's Anatomy, Robin in Batman Forever, Charlie Simms in Scent of a Woman and if you remember way back he was D'Artagnan in The Three Musketeers in 1993 (This one is my favorite for him. If you haven't seen it you should!)

Also on the new Naval Criminal Investigative Service show will be LL Cool J playing Sam. He has been a musician for many years but you also may have seen him in Last Holiday or way back when in Toys. He will be playing a former Navy SEAL who is on the team.

As always there has to be a great female strong character. In this case that character will be played by Louise Lombard. She's no stranger to investigative shows. She had played Sofia Curtis on CSI for three years and now will take on the role of Clara in the spinoff show.

Others on the cast include Peter Cambor as Nate and Daniela Ruah as Kensi Lo.

So when will we see more about this show? Well, they have already been filming the pilot. It is expected this show will spin off just like NCIS did from Jag. There will be an episode of NCIS that will introduce you to the new team and then the show will continue from that one episode. That means there is no way you will miss the pilot, as it will be one of the NCIS episodes you already watch!

Based on Wikipedia, the current project name for the NCIS spin-off is "NCIS: Legend". They may change the name to "NCIS: OSP" or "NCIS: Undercover" The new characters are being introduced in the current episode and the next episode of NCIS. So if you are curious of the new show, be sure to watch the recent episodes of NCIS.
