Los Angeles Connection
And so it begins. That is what I found myself saying as I heard a few portions of this week's NCIS. It seems that they are starting to unfold some of the story lines we know are going to play into the end of this season.
This week's show opens with a group of agents following a guy you think is likely our suspect through Los Angeles. He's carrying a brief case and a number of officers, in plain clothes, are following him. Shots are fired against him. They try to cover him and then he drops his briefcase full of money and runs.
Later they find the body of Lt Chandler in Washington D.C. NCIS is called to a warehouse where a marine has been drawn and quartered and then tortured. He has been slowly electrocuted with a battery. Ducky explains that using light current across the chest causes the diaphragm to be unable to work. He would have suffocated.
As they try to figure out who the dead man is they discover his name and then find out they are not the only ones looking for him. There is a BOLO out from the Los Angeles NCIS office looking for him as well.
It turns out that Chandler was given ¼ million dollars and told to take it to an address in Los Angles. His mother had been beaten up the week before. They said they would let her alone if he delivered the money. It seems they realized he was working with the agents and they opened fire on him.
This is where we are getting to start to meet the characters that will be in the new NCIS spin off this fall. We start to get to know Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), Special Agent G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) as well as other characters like Clara Macy, Nate "Doc" Getz, Kensi Lo and Dominic Vaile. They were all working the case from the Los Angeles side. And these are the characters that will be taking the reins of the new spin off in the fall.
We learn Callen and Gibbs already know either other as they met on the sly to talk about the case and the department. He and Gibbs served together in Serbia and Moscow. We also found out that Gibbs and Clara Macy have a past. As a matter of fact, he and the Los Angeles Director seem to have a very rocky past.
Next week things will heat up as the teams continue to try and crack this case and we will get to learn more about these new characters we will be seeing in the spin off series.

Title: A New NCIS
Weblog: NeoSciGen
Excerpt: So, have you heard? There is going to be another NCIS to watch! The folks at CBS have realized just how much of a cash cow they have with NCIS and so they are going to create a spinoff show that follows another group of special agents. I suppose it's going to be a lot like the CSIs that ended up . . .
