A surprisingly successful spin-off
I have been a fan of NCIS since season 1. Mark Harmon and the rest of the original cast were fantastic, and I am glad to see the LA cast, while different, is equal.
NCIS:LA seems a bit more focused on terrorism than the original, but I think this helps viewers relate more to the world we live in. I was happy to see the issue of looting Iraq in the most recent episode. I have had several friends deployed and they all agree that a lot of theft (by locals in the area as well as American's) does take place, and while we are at war currently, stealing the history of a nation (and the world for many) is not acceptable. Seeing the good guys track down and set the issues right (while driving nice cars and looking good)is always exciting.
Even with a star studded cast of sexy young actresses and actors, my favorite character is still Hetty (Played by Linda Wright). Her sharp wit adds a layer of greatness to this show that many lack, and she provides a bond between the rest of the characters that I believe is necessary when working in a team consisting mostly of Alpha Male type characters. Hetty had a birthday in the last episode, so Happy Birthday Hetty.
