"Personal" -- Another Exciting Episode!
Deeks is shot in a convenience store, but it isn't an accidental encounter. Seems it is an assassination attempt. You know it took me a bit to warm up to this series when it first came on – it had been advertised as more of the same from NCIS. But there was a different ambience – a little harder, a more serious NCIS. So this has grown on me over the past season and a half. Crime meets espionage – more of the edge – not just petty crime – murders and such. No, we are into conspiracies and corruption, foreign or gangland influence – sometimes both. And the actors are really good. So now I find myself watching this show every week – either broadcast or on demand, but somehow I squeeze it in. Of course visually, it still follows the NCIS model. Snapshots at the breaks, lots of face time. So right in the middle of this episode, a bit of misdirection. You think it's a bad cop, and next thing you know, it's something else entirely. So just when you think it's a stock plot, it does something else. I think one thing that keeps this show fresh is varying the writers and directors from episode to episode. I won't tell you how it ends – keep watching!
