New season of NCIS sure to continue the greatness
I have been a big fan of NCIS ever since the first season when it was redundantly titled Navy NCIS. Since then, the fans have lined up and the redundancy has been dropped. Now we are 6 seasons into this great show, and a seventh season is slated to begin on September 22 at 8 PM (7 central) on CBS.
NCIS follows the professional lives of Agent Gibbs and his team of top investigators as they solve crimes related to the Navy or Navy personnel. Through their interactions, we gradually get small glimpses into the events that made these investigators the people that they are,
Over the years, NCIS has set itself apart from other police procedurals. Its quirky, multi-dimensional characters draw viewers into the storyline with unusual panache. The crimes that the agents of the Navy Criminal Investigative Service investigate are endlessly creative without ever crossing the line into the realm of being so bizarre as to be unbelievable.
NCIS, itself a spinoff of the now-defunct JAG, has even achieved the ultimate vote of confidence a series can attain: its own spinoff. NCIS: Los Angeles will be premiering on September 22 in the hour following the season premier of the original.
NCIS, with its engaging characters and well-constructive crime drama, is a definite winner and one of the best shows currently on television.
