Family- Guts and all

"'NCIS,' 'Don't you mean CSI?,' 'Only if you're dyslexic.'"
This show takes its themes and characters out of a dysfunctional family. We have the stern and strict yet loving father figure Agent Leroy Gethro Gibbs. He has had many a tragedy sprung on him but does his work with honor and always gets results, which is why he can get away with many things. We have the player/ass who is really a big teddy bear, Very Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo, he is the child of a distant and sometimes wealthy sometimes poor father. Throughout the series we see him grow up, and go through many trial, but always he is able to keep people cheerful and ready to slap him. The McGeek, Probationary (for a few seasons) Agent Timothy McGee, or Probie as he does hate to be called. The brightest goth chick you will ever meet and McGee's true other half, Forensic Scientist Abby Sciuto. She is all things good, with a kind heart, a farting hippo stuffed animal and cute pigtails, in a package of black. There have been two significant deaths in the course of this warming series. First, that of Special Agent and former Secret Service Caitlin Todd, who was a counterpart to DiNozzo as well as a loved member of a team. She brought much to the show but was in the end shot by the brother of one who would fill in her spot, although never to replace her. Todd's killer, a man named Ari, was brought to justice, shot bafore killing Gibbs, by his sister and fellow Mossad operative, Ziva David. The daughter of the head of Mossad is brought in by Jenny Shepard. Jenny is the first female director of NCIS. She had a small but lasting romantic involvedly with Gibbs when they were both working undercover, under the covers. Unfortunately, Jenny is killed, valiantly, in a hail of bullets. This was one of the more tragic and unbelievable losses the NCIS team has had to bear. Ziva, however has become a much favored character. Sexual tension notwithstanding, DiNozzo and she have an amazingly tough relationship. She and McGee get along and often team up against DiNozzo. She brings much more expertise with her background. This new season has seen her troubles with identity resolved. She loves Gibbs like a father and decides to achieve American citizenship. She along with her entire real family solve the deaths and prevent many others through their had work and gut-driven instinct.
