Michael Weatherly - The Man Behind the Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo

If you are an NCIS Fan, you probably are also an Anthony DiNozzo fan. There's something about his arrogance and belief that he really is the next best thing to Gibbs while also being a mess at many of the things he tries to do that make him also lovable. But who is the person behind the DiNozzo name? We're going to take a little bit of a look into the actor behind the character- Michael Weatherly.

For those of you who are interested in astrology and take something from a birth date, Michael Weatherly was born on July 8, 1968. He's one of seven kids (he has a brother and 5 sisters).

NCIS, while the show he is probably the most known for is definitely not Weatherly's first role in acting. He's had roles in a number of television shows. The one many know him for was playing Logan in Dark Angel from 2000-2002. But there have been plenty others including recurring roles on Jesse, Significant Others, Spy Game, Loving and The City. On the larger screen, he has been in a number of movies including The Last Days of Disco, Winding Roads, Cabin By the Lake, Gun Shy, The Specials, Venus and Mars, Trigger Happy, Her Minor Thing, and he will be in Charlie Valentine, which will be coming out this year.

Before he hit it well in the acting business, Michael had a number of jobs. He has done everything from selling shoes to delivering pizzas and for some time was also in bands as a way to make enough money to pay the bills. He plays both the guitar and piano.

There is one interesting correlation between Tony DiNozzo from the television show and the real Michael Weatherly. Both of them come from a wealthy family, but do not have access to the family money. Michael's father was a millionaire that made money in Swiss army knives. But when Michael decided to pursue a career in acting, he was cut off from the family's money.

It seems he got the last laugh, as the now ever-popular character of DiNozzo who fans around the world clamor to see.

So, what does he think about being a part of NCIS? He says he's amazed at the popularity of the show and is proud to be a part of it. He also loves the diversity of the audience, saying he gets stopped by everyone from Goth kids to investment bankers who want to meet him.
