Blood Brothers Recap
This episode starts with a marine, Gunnery Sergeant Wendell Dobbs, walking along the street at night writing things into a small notebook. Suddenly a car filled with gang members drives by and Wendell is shot multiple times. The NCIS group sets out to find out who is responsible. There investigation leads them to Wendell's dad who is an ex-marine. While Callan and Sam are talking with him, some gang members come to the door looking for Lil Mac D, Wendell's brother whose real name is James. James is not there and the gang members are forced to leave. Soon after, they shoot up the dad's house. No one is hurt.
Next Sam and Callan go to Santiago Equipment, where James works as a night watchman. James has not been at work for several days but the boss, Ronnie Miller, explains how Wendell helped him get a military contract to restore Humvees used in Iraq. The NCIS agents suspect that weapons were illegally being brought in inside the Humvees, since the Humvees didn't have to go through customs.
They find out that Ronnie Miller is not who he says he is and he becomes a prime suspect. Meanwhile the agents find James and try to get him to tell them who was involved in his brother's murder. At first he is too scared to help. He tells Callan that he was in the car with the gang members when they killed his brother. He finally gets the courage to help Sam and Callan take down the gang. As it turns out the weapons were not being smuggled into the country in the Humvees. Those came from the uncle of one of the gang members. Instead, heroin was being hidden in the Humvees that were brought to Santiago Equipment. The boss didn't know anything about it. James, being the night watchman, would open the gate for the gang members. They would drive in a different Humvee and exchange it for a marked Humvee full of heroin that was on the lot. Apparently Gunny Dobbs found out about the operation so the gang killed him before he could shut them down.
