NCIS Cast Makes Show Successful And Satisfying

The cast of NCIS is what makes the show such a hit; they're experienced, Emmy nominated, and let's face it, pretty easy on the eyes. From Mark Harmon and Rocky Carroll to Pauley Perrette (among others), it's hard to find anything not to like about them and the portrayal of their individual characters.

NCIS is both dramatic, but the generous amount of humor keeps it from being to monotonous and depressing, thanks to the writers and, in my opinion, the characters and actors that portray them. Though their jobs as part of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service team can be stressful and downright complicated at times, they always work together to produce an engaging and successful outcome; satisfying the need to keep viewers interested and returning for each new episode.

Mark Harmon is seems has been around for years and years, yet he never looks any older. From his portrayal of the handsome yet horrific serial killer Ted Bundy, to the adorable and patient fiance in Freaky Friday, and his roles in the old favorites, Moonlighting and St. Elsewhere, he's successfully made his characters come to life, capturing the seriousness or humor called for in each instance. Of course, many of us first came to know him when he played football for UCLA, which he did very successfully

Harmon's role as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs allows his personality to come through without saying a whole lot. Sometimes funny, he can often let others know what he's thinking simply by the look on his face.

Pauley (as Abby Sciuto) was also seen in “24” and “The Drew Carey Show.” She's a native of New Orleans and colorful interests, including poetry, music, animals, writing and photography. She's beautiful and mysterious, and her Goth-like style complements her unconventional forensic specialist career choice.

Obviously, she's talented and eclectic -- a combination that's very appealing to viewers who also desire a life outside of the ordinary -- and entertaining enough to keep all ages interested. Teens find her tattoos and outfits inspiring, while those of us in our 20s and even 30s can relate to her work ethic that also allows her to remain herself.

Rocky Carroll has been seen in many TV favorites. From Chicago Hope (where he also worked with Mark Harmon) and ER, we've admired his work for many years. He's originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, but also now lives in L.A.n As now Director of the NCIS team, Rocky's part as Leon Vance is straightforward and practical, often questioning Gibbs.

It's this combination of great actors with distinct and lively histories cast in equally colorful and lively characters that keep NCIS a must-see for CBS viewers. The combination of common sense and sometimes finicky personalities keeps all types of people interested and relating to the stories, even if we're lacking the same levels of excitement in our own daily lives.
