NCIS Season 6 - Love & War

Have I ever mentioned just how much I love the intros of NCIS?

Last week's show opened like a horror movie and had me on the edge of my chair.

Let's start with the set up, a fake 'body' in the road that Captain Jennings hits. Initially, you think it was a person and think that is where the crime is going to start, until he picks it up and realizes it's a fake. Then your mind starts racing and wondering who is out gunning for the captain, how did they know he would be there and when we'll see them.

Instead of giving you a quick answer, they dragged this part out, keeping you on edge, trying to peer through the fog with the captain, identify the rustle in the trees and then when you saw his keys had been taken from the car, you knew things were about to go from bad to worse. Wow, just a great intro to the show!

Ok, onto this week's episode. The twists and turns in the case were amazing from the maid who wasn.t a maid to where the pentagram came from on his body and the espionage that wasn't espionage. Can you even imagine being on a case like that and having so many options that could lead you to a killer and having to narrow it down to the right one?

There were so many people with things to hide or who were acting suspiciously. There were even more questions that came up that could have taken this in a completely different direction. I can't even fathom difficult this type of thing must be a for real investigator.

The next thing that I thought about was the resolution to the case. If you haven't watched it, this is a spoiler alert.

I found myself with my jaw dropped at the end of the case, but not for the reason you may have thought. Unlike a lot of the cases in this show, I was pretty sure I knew who did it and why before it all unraveled. With that said, when I was shown that I was right, that he did kill her father as a way to get her to renew their engagement, I thought about what type of person that takes. We all know these cases are in some ways based in reality and that those kinds of people are out there. It worries me a little about the kinds of folks that are out there among us....
