NCIS on Facebook

In this week's NCIS there was a reference made by an officer that he kept up with Ziva on Facebook. Being the curious sort that I am I wondered if this really was the case. So, I logged onto Facebook and found that if you type in Ziva David, you actually get a lot of options.

There have been fan sites set up that you can become a part of and learn a little more about some of the characters. Now, these are not the real actors, but fan pages set up to talk about them. It does look like a few of them may have been created by the TV production company though, as they are pretty much advertisements for the show and DVD's of the past seasons. It was just kind of funny to see the characters of NCIS on Facebook.

In this week's episode the guy who was talking about seeing Ziva online mentioned that he had 'poked' her, which if you are not Facebook savvy is a little thing that you do on the page to say 'hi'. Her fan page was then overwhelmed with 'pokes' from viewers who wanted to join in the fun. I must say, though, I was disappointed that there weren't any pictures of her knife collection on the page, as he mentioned on the show.

The funniest Facebook page, in my estimation, was Gibbs. I mean, think about it. Leroy Jethro Gibbs is the guy who hits the computer when it doesn't work and has no better idea how to get it running. What would someone like that really be doing on facebook? I think Ducky on the site is just about as funny.

By the way, if you are a Facebook junkie, there are also fan pages for each of the actors behind the characters so you can learn more about them when they are not on NCIS.

The only warning I would offer is to remember that these pages are not made by the actors themselves, so they are really just a lot of fans writing their thoughts and such. That means you may get some information that is not quite true. But it may be a fun little diversion if you are on Facebook already.
