The Other Life of Pauley Perrette (Abby)

So, a while back I mentioned that Abby Scuito is my favorite character in NCIS. Recently, I decided I needed to learn a little more about the person who plays her on the show.

Before I started my research, I figured that Pauley Perrette would be something like her Abby character. She seems way too comfortable in that character to not have some of it be really close to home. I was right.

Pauley was born in New Orleans and still has a tie to that area. If you have ever been to New Orleans and seen the unique and spectacular people there, you may not be surprised by this fact.

Another thing she has in common with Abby is her background. While she is an actress she actually has a college degree from studying Criminology and Psychology! Much like the real character, huh?

Her acting career started like a lot of other people. She moved to New York and worked a number of jobs from bartender to makeup artist while trying to break into the business. Eventually she started getting a few jobs in commercials then music videos.

Later she moved to L.A. and started getting more and better roles, moving into TV on shows like The Drew Carey Show, Jesse, That's Life! and Veronica's Closet.

Finally she made her move into the show we all love, NCIS.

But do you know about her musical side? I'm not talking about just the music she plays in the lab on the show, but her musical career. In addition to being an actress, Pauley was the lead singer of a band called Lo-Ball. They played the kind of music that you would expect to hear coming from the lab. It's loud, it's wild and did I mention she was blonde when she was singing for them?

She also more recently released some music under the name "Stop Making Friends" Many of the songs she performs are based on poetry she has written (did you even know she was a poet??).

Sounds like she does almost everything, right? But wait, there's more! She's also a photographer. Talk about the all over artistic mind! It's pretty amazing if you ask me. All of this has helped me to reinforce why she is my favorite.
