The Season 6 Finale! Finally!

Well the season finale of NCIS has finally arrived and it was quite the show. If you missed it, here's the recap!

The show opens with a repeat of last weeks ending. As Ziva is driving up to her apartment she is talking to someone in Mossad to say she needs Rifkin extracted.

When she runs to the apartment she opens the door to face Tony and Rifkin on the floor. Rifkin has been shot. She runs to Michael and tries to save him while yelling for Tony to call an ambulance.

The next scene is Tony in the hospital watching Ziva as she waits for word or Rifkin. The doctor delivers the news that he has died.

As she walks out of the hospital past Tony she looks at Gibbs and says, "Rifkin is dead. Tony killed him."

This is when the whole conversation and tone changes. You start to realize that Tony has killed a Mossad agent. Now it's his word against that of the 'dead guy', and with the track record between Tony and Ziva many are thinking it was personal, not business.

In his discussion with Director Vance about the shooting he was yelled at for breaking protocol, going alone and not informing anyone of what he was doing. He says his gut told him that Rifkin was the man they were looking for who killed the agent, but he wanted to talk to Ziva so she could explain and didn't expect Rifkin to be there.

Vance – You wanted to protect her?

Tony – If she needed it.

To make the case worse, as Gibbs and McGee are heading to Ziva's apartment to investigate the scene there is an explosion, destroying the apartment. They try to dig through the rubble, but there is not much left, save a laptop that was hidden under a cabinet. While it's severely damaged McGee hopes to be able to get something off of it.

The only thing that seems to be going on Tony's side is Ducky's autopsy report. It shows that the blows during the fight were just as he had described in his report. He also has the answer to an overriding question that is on the minds of everyone, why did Tony best Rifkin in a fight? Michael was a trained assassin! It turns out he was also a very drunk assassin, twice the legal limit.

But it's not over yet�. at this point, they have to travel to Tel Aviv, to deliver Rifkin's body and meet with the head of Mossad, Eli David, Ziva's father as the investigation continues into Rifkin's death.

When they arrive in Tel Aviv, there are vehicles waiting to receive them and to receive Michael's body. Tony is asked to ride in a car with a Mossad 'handler'. Gibbs and Vance are concerned and wonder if they are going to see him, in one piece, at the other end of the ride. Ziva looks to them and says only two people have the authority to harm Tony.

Vance . Your father's one. Who's the other?

Ziva . Me.

Eli does the interrogation of Tony. Tony, ignoring protocol and all the commands he was given by Vance, is full of sarcasm throughout the whole interview.

But, during the interrogation, Tony turned things around on Ziva's father making him admit he had more of a hand in things, including the situation that lead to Rifkin's death, than he previously admitted.

Ziva overheard this and stormed out of the room. We next see her confronting the handler, Nadar, who is the one who set fire to her apartment to clean up after Rifkin. She confronts him and finds out that Mossad was coming to look for Rifkin because he was making a diplomatic mess. Essentially she realizes that if Tony and Rifkin had not squared off, his own people would have done him in.

Not able to just let her hate him, Tony confronts Ziva outside.

Ziva - You jeopardized you career for what?

Tony - For you.

She is angry and you can see it boiling up inside of her. He tells her to hit him to get it out of her system and make her feel better about her anger.

Ziva - Be careful Tony because much like Michael I only need one.

Instead of hitting him she throws him to the ground and tells him he had other options than killing Michael. She pulls her gun and goes over the shots he could have taken instead of kill shots. You feel almost sure she will pull the trigger, but she doesn't.

On the Laptop

Meanwhile, Abby and Tim have been able to get into the laptop they found in Ziva's apartment and find a number of e-mails that have been going back and forth, relating to the terrorist training camp that Ziva claimed to know nothing about. Many of the e-mails were going to her making Gibbs realize she was withholding information.

With their time in Tel Aviv at a close, Ziva and Gibbs are on the tarmac of the airport about to board the plane. She explains she cannot go because she doesn't trust Tony and needs to be put on another team if she were to go back. Gibbs, knowing that means she is going to stay behind, kisses her on the cheek and tells her to take care of herself.

Once they return to Washington, Vance shows some of his colors. He confronts Gibbs who doesn't want to replace Ziva just yet. He says he knows what happened to make Gibbs trust Ziva.. that she killed Ari. He also tells Gibbs that Eli sent her to kill Ari so she would earn Gibb's trust.

The show closes with a few more times of seeing Ziva. She is first on a ship working with other soldiers and in the final scene, she has been captured. She is being held at the terrorist camp in North Africa. An interrogator walks in and picks up her beaten head then instructs her to tell him everything she knows about NCIS.

That is quite a start for what is to come next season...
