Trent Court - Good Guy or Bad Guy? (Dead Reckoning Episode)

You remember the CIA agent Trent Kort who a while back gave Gibbs that mystery folder on Leon Vance? He is the opener of this show.

You see what looks to be a parking garage in a warehouse district where there is a shootout going on. There are three men shooting at each other. After a hail of gunfire two of them are dead and the remaining man starts trading out the guns of those who are on the scene to look as if the fatal shots did not come from his gun. That man is CIA Agent Trent Kort.

After he has wiped down the weapons and put them in the dead men's hands, he opens his cell phone and calls Gibbs and says, "Hello Gibbs, how about that favor you owe me."

When Gibbs shows up to see the aftermath, he looks at Kort and asks what is going on.

Kort - "I think they shot each other."

Gibbs - "Is that your best story?"

Kort - "It's the one I'm sticking with."

This is the opening of what is about to be a wild ride through the world of a gang lord and his entire organization that seems to be getting killed off, one by one.

The men work for Jonathan Serabo, who is on the NCIS Most Wanted wall. They have been trying to bring him down for years and now it seems he is wiping out all of those who have worked for him and taking all the money he has made over the years and moving it to places where others can't get a hold of it. But that's not the whole story.

It seems the only one of Serabo's men NCIS can find who is still alive (as they find a lot of dead ones) is the accountant, who is a nerdy looking guy with a very touchy stomach and a lot of complaints.

They spend the show trying to keep him alive, so he can testify, in case they are ever able to track down and catch Serabo.

As always, I am not going to give away the end of the show. What I will say is that I was a bit shocked. As the hour wound down, I started to think I had enough information to piece together who did it... but in the last moments, the writers let me know that I should not think so much of my deduction skills. Everything I thought fell apart in the final scene!
