Wild West Meets War Zone

While the name of this week's episode was South by Southwest, I think a more appropriate name would be Wild West Meets War Zone, so that is what I am going to call it.

If you haven't seen it, spoilers are coming, so watch out!

It starts with a special agent rushing down the street at night. He has a package in his hand. He is constantly looking over his shoulder and you get the feeling he is definitely being followed. He makes his way to a mailbox and shoves the package in then rushes away. A dark vehicle pulls up. He starts to pull his gun but is too slow and is shot by someone in the vehicle. When he is found the only noticeable thing he had was the business card of a homeland security agent in his hand, office number on front, scribbled cell number on back. They called both the office and cell number to see if the agent knew anything about the case Special Agent Jack Patterson was working on.

Once NCIS learns it's one of their own who has been shot, they are there in force to try and solve the crime. While he was not stationed with them, Abby knows Special Agent Patterson very well as she had a phone relationship going with him as they talked forensics.

It turns out he was counting on that friendship to solve the crime. The package he sent before he died said "Abby, NCIS, Naval Yard". While it had no postage, the mailman decided to deliver it to the agency, just in case it was something important.

Inside was an interesting clue, a piece of art. It is a painting of Yuma, Arizona. That art, or rather the paint that is on it, ends up being the key to the whole case. But for just what that means you'll have to watch!

Add in imposters and an amazing shootout and you have a can't-miss episode.

There are some moments you really want to see in this show. First is Tony and horses. He and Gibbs went to Yuma to work the case and ended up having to get on horseback. Obviously this is not something he is comfortable with and watching him try to get on the horse and steer was a belly-laugh moment, not to mention his quote after the ride of, "Can you get nerve damage in your buttocks?"

The other scene you don't want to miss is seeing Gibbs' sniper past coming back in his one shot, one kill ability that keeps him alive in the end! It was a great, great show!!
