Ziva's Best Gun Battle Yet

While usually a moment in a show doesn't get it's own blog post, this week it does. We're talking about Ziva's shootout in the middle of Dead Reckoning. If you didn't see the show, this is an additional reason why you should! Let me paint the picture for you.

Tony and Ziva are on a witness protection detail. They are supposed to be keeping the accountant for a major mob lord protected in a safe house until the U.S. Marshals Office comes to pick him up and continue the protective custody.

This guy has a lot of problems and needs medication so Ziva runs out to get it. As she is returning, she notices what looks like a couple of hired guns moving towards the building to off the accountant. She calls Tony and tells him to get into hiding while she makes her way around the back of the building.

There are two doors to the small house. One is the front door and the other entrance is a side door. Ziva positions herself at the right angle where the line of sight of the two of them meet, pulls out her cell phone, calls Gibbs, turns the speaker on and puts it on the ground. As she tells Gibbs "we have a situation at the safe house", she is also pulling out her side arm and her ankle gun.

She takes a few seconds to position herself facing both doors with one gun trained on each of them.

You hear Gibbs' voice saying, "Well, yeah Ziva, what is it?"

In a very cool and collected voice she responds with, "just a second..."

There is a moment of silence and the two men kick open the doors. She opens fire, downing both of them at the same time. The camera view flashes to Gibbs who is screaming her name after he hears the gunshots. The two suspects fall and she responds with just two words "under control."

Meanwhile, Tony, who is hiding in the other room with the suspect, is also wondering how things are going in the gun battle just outside the door. Right about then Ziva walks in and he looks at her asking, "you OK?"

She responds with just a quick 'um-hm' acting like nothing had just happened in the hallway behind them.

While this all happened in about 30 seconds to a minute, it was one of those moments that you will rewind and play back (especially if you have the show on your DVR) because it was just that cool.
