Abby found out!

I was so excited to see this week's episode of NCIS. Ever since I saw the flashback where Gibbs shoots the man in the truck from a sniper position I knew something would come of it. Then he refuses to answer the polygraph question in a past episode about doing something illegal.

The episode began with a little boy with his grandpa on his birthday in (presumably) his grandpa's junk yard. He's going to let the boy crush a car on his birthday. While the boy is crushing the car he asks "does it hurt" and his grandpa says "no its a car it doesn't feel anything" and the little boy utters the great line "then why is it bleeding?" (cue title credits.)

Abby gets called into the directors office and she's convinced its because of any of the noble (yet mildly illegal) pursuits she's had going on on behalf of non profit organizaions, but the director's secretary tells her the dreamy detective from Mexico wants her to come and lead a symposium she goes to Mexico with her less than desireable traveling partner, McGee, to speak at a symposium about Cold Cases. However the case that she receives first is not just any random case, but the killing of a Drug Lord from 20 years ago.

When Abby takes her class to the site of the murder she shows that it must have been a sniper, and when she meets a woman from the Reynosa cartel she knows she's right, because the woman gives her the shell casing from 20 years earlier.

While all of this is happening south of the border, the team is back in DC investigating the murder of a the man whose feet have been cut off and was stuffed in the trunk of the car in the junk yard. Eventually they find a truck full of feet that have been cut off and they know they are looking for a serial killer. Tony recognizes the tattoos on many of the ankles and identifies them as belonging to bikers.

Eventually they find that the serial killer is actually the first body they found in the trunk of the car, but who killed the killer? While Duckey says the other bodies all had the feet cut off postmortem the killers feet were cut off while he was still alive. Eventually they find its all a drug rival thing and he was killed by some biker chick that claims he tried to kill her first.

Abby does some more research while in Mexico and discovers that the Drug Lord was the man who killed Gibbs' wife and daughter and she knows if she has the body exhumed it will implicate Gibbs.

Sure enough, she has the body exhumed and brought back to DC and when the bullet is removed she traces it back to Gibbs' sniper rifle.

The heart wrenching part (for me) comes when Abby confronts Gibbs at the end of the episode and begs him to tell her that she is wrong. When he doesn't she asks him to tell her that he's loved her like a daughter. He asks if that will help, and right before it fades to black she says "I need to know that you'll love me no matter what"

I can't wait for next week's episode!
