DTA that can be Controlled by the TV's Remote

I have Cable TV and was sent a DTA that I will need but don't like it.
Is there a DTA box that will just change the signal to digital without having to use another tuner or remote to change channels? My TV is HDTV able but not ready and does not have a digital tuner. It has many features that I might not be able to use when I connect the DTA. Like the split screen. If not, my remote for my TV is useless.
